Pip
Parent-managed AI chat for children, with full conversation visibility.
Our verdict: pass
Read the rationale below. This is not a certification, endorsement, or guarantee of safety.
- What it is
- A family AI chat with role-style helpers (homework, stories, curiosity, calm corner). Designed so parents set the rules and can see what happened.
- Age guidance
- Built for ages 3–17 according to the product site. Parent/guardian (18+) creates the only real account; children join with a code and need no email or password.
- Parent controls
- Parent-owned account. Topic toggles, helper selection, daily message limits, quiet hours, full chat review, Issues list for refusals and extra-care replies, optional alerts that do not include the child’s words. Children are told parents can read chats.
- Privacy / data (UK/EU framing)
- Privacy policy (German/EU framing) emphasises parental consent, GDPR rights, and that children do not create accounts or enter personal data themselves. Child profiles hold first name/nickname and birth date entered by the parent. Contact support@guidedaiforkids.com for deletion requests (within 30 days per support pages). Confirm the English privacy page and your country’s store listing before purchase — pricing is shown in-app/store.
Why this verdict
Pass when your priority is parent control and visibility.
Pip’s model matches what many UK/EU parents ask for: one adult account, no child login credentials, filters plus household rules, quiet hours, and readable history. That aligns better with “high privacy / parental involvement” expectations than letting a child borrow an adult ChatGPT login.
Stay aware
- English-language privacy documentation should be checked alongside the German policy page linked above; if anything is unclear, email the operator before trusting sensitive chats.
- Subscription price varies by country and store — we do not list a fixed UK price here.
- No AI filter is perfect; review Issues and chats regularly.
